Reva announced today the the REVA NXR, a M1 category which is due as a 2011 model.
The REVA NXR is a three-door, four-seater hatchback family car that is optimized for city driving.
The NXR (NeXr Reva) is a lithium-ion powered electric car which will go into production early 2010 and has a top speed of 65 mph (104 km/h) with a 100-mile range per charge. Standard charging takes eight hours, but the car can accept a quick charge in 90 minutes that provides a way to do 250 miles (320 km/h) per day. A 15 min re-charge will offer you 40 km of driving.
It offers keyless entry and operation, dual charge ports, intelligent digital display and a range of telematics including REVA’s exclusive REVive remote emergency charge, where a customer low on charge can telephone or SMS REVA's customer support centre and they will activate a reserve amount of energy providing some extra miles of range so the driver can continue home or to a place where the NXR can be charged.
Prices of the NXR will vary across Europe depending on taxes and subsidies and there is the option of purchasing the car and batteries separately, or at an all-inclusive price.
Average prices will be around 14,995 euros (excluding batteries) for the lithium-ion NXR Intercity version, plus a monthly mobility fee for the batteries and other services. However, the company will build the REVA NXR City, powered by lead acid batteries that has an 80 km (50 mile) range. The REVA NXR price for the City version starts at 9,995 Euros.
